In the beautiful village of Lopikerkapel – in the middle of the Netherlands – lies the family business Lumière. Designing and manufacturing lighting has been our daily activity for over 50 years. With a small team of craftsmen, we create luminaries and lampshades in our own studio, using the most beautiful materials.
Peter and Mariëlle are responsible for daily management. They met each other at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht. Both went the direction of architectural design and both caught the design bug. In recent years, they have transformed the company from a wholesaler in lighting on the Dutch market into an internationally operating company with self-designed models and customers all over the world.
With many years of experience in the area of design and production, the company has taken a entirely unique approach. The Lumière collection distinguishes itself with its original designs made of materials such as bronze, ceramic and glass. More recently, beautifully decorated style rooms were created with a quirky mix of styles, from oriental to glamorous and from shabby to chic. Additionally, you will also find Peter’s Pieter Adam collection at the ETC. His collection consists of several lines that all exude originality, quality and a feel for detail. This collection is also been presented internationally at fairs in Paris, Milan and Frankfurt and are now even sold worldwide.
The right lighting applied correctly is the essential finishing touch on any beautiful and complete modern interior. However, for many, lighting is not only the last, but also the hardest part of the interior design puzzle. Nevertheless, lighting – both functional and atmospheric – can provide just that little extra to any interior. Mariëlle finds a beautiful challenge in this, one that she takes on with a lot enthusiasm and expertise. She is the ideal partner in advising on and coming up with ideas for lighting plans; for B2B and the hospitality industry but also for consumers.
